I am glad it has worked out. This type of litigation is to be avoided if at all possible because it is expensive, time consuming, stressful and the outcome can never be predicted with absolute certainty. Still, sometimes it is unavoidable. For what it's worth barristers usually hand over their position statements on the day of the hearing. Basically they amount to what the barrister will say on behalf of X so they are never impartial. For what it's worth when I received them just before a hearing I hardly ever read them preferring to focus on what my points were and, just as important, addressing the issues indicated by the judge during the hearing.
