Difficult ex wife and marriage certificate

Good evening all. Just over 3 years ago I escaped a bullying and psychologically damaging marriage. This lady was a controlling bully, not just on me, but on my son. Her psychological bullying drove me to severe depression and doctors appointments before I left with my boy.
I carry on messaging and asking for the marriage certificate but text messages and emails are ignored. As we got married overseas, I cannot get the original copy and am stuck for another 20 months until the 5 year point. Anyone advise what I can do please?

You need to obtain the marriage certificate or an official copy no matter what ground for divorce you rely upon. Courts cannot pronounce divorce unless you can first prove you are married. You will need to obtain the marriage certificate even if you have to travel to said country in order to obtain or pay someone there to obtain it for you.
