Well, I can't make any recommendations not just because I don't know the area but because to some extent you are held responsible for recommendations. There are some rules of thumb though. First, any legal costs are, or should be, a matter of economics. It does not make any sense to spend £5,000 in legal costs to recover a debt of £5,000 but it does make sense to spend £5,000 to recover £100,000 which you would not otherwise have received. It is a question of proportion in every case and it always pays to carry out that balancing exercise.
Second, sound legal advice usually makes sense to the person receiving it so people should be able to see whether it is benefiting them or not. Waffle rarely benefits anyone.
