Financial settlement and not disclosing finances

Good Afternoon, my partner is trying to sort out financial settlement with his ex - wife but 1) she has not disclosed her financial situation yet (it has been going on for months) - what might be the reason? 2) they are communicating through his solicitor (she does not have any) and questions every detail about his finances that puts extra pressure on my partner as his solicitors are interrogating him with his ex wife's questions and demands while he has said to them that there will be no more disclosure of any kind of information til she discloses her financial situation - what is he paying for if they are no help but cause more stress? I have adviced for my partner to look for other solicitors, any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

If what you say is correct then your partner may well be advised to change solicitors. Financial (and other relevant) disclosure must be mutual in order to be meaningful. One sided disclosure and answering endless questions without reciprocity is a mug's game.

Of course, reciprocal disclosure can be compelled by issuing a court application. Voluntary disclosure can sometimes go on forever and not get anywhere (apart from wasting time and money).
