I have just received a "Financial Statement" from my wife's solicitor.
I do not have a solicitor yet, as she qualifies for legal aid, whereas I do not. Therefore I have been trying to keep costs down by avoiding this step until absolutely necessary. Maybe this is that time?
The form is footered with "Form E Financial statement (01.16)", and includes, at the top the following...
"For a financial order under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973/ Civil Partnership Act 2004
For financial relief after an overseas divorce etc. under Part 3 of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984/Schedule 7 to the Civil Partnership Act 2004"
It appears to be a court document, but has not been issued by any court.
Do I have an obligation to complete this document?
ITS 27 PAGES LONG! ...And I work for a living.
The email from the solicitor simply says
"Dear Mr XXX
please find attached Form E for completion and guidance notes for assistance.
kind regards
Morecrofts LLP"
(Her solicitor can't even use capitals in the right place)
